How\’s that for a double whammy – just as pangbianr, the platform for everything underground (and then some) in the Beijing music scene, turns 3, Josh Feol, founder of said platform has teamed up with Markus M. Schneider of Metrowaves, the Beijing-based platform for electronic music to form Sinotronics, a new Beijing-based record label publishing contemporary music from and in China with a strong emphasis on electronic sounds. Whoa. That\’s pretty big news. To celebrate the two events, they\’re throwing a weekend bash, Friday May 31st and Saturday June 1st at The Other Place – the recently renovated Beiluoguxiang joint – with a slew of artists, DJs, media, friends, blah blah blah, just about everyone. While Friday\’s artists will lean more toward electronica (Metrowaves digs), Saturday will feature more pangbianr-heavy artists. Both events kick off at 12pm and will go late into the night. Click below for the lineup and more details. Swing though and congratulate the boys. I know I will.
