It’s not all rock and roll kids – if given the opportunity I’ll gladly venture out of my comfort zone to check out some of the city’s more ahem, respected, genres of music. That’s how I found myself at 798’s long forgotten cousin, 718 Creative Park, located a bit east of the Communications University. The concert hall I attended was part of the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, where they churn out some of the country’s most marvelous talent, such as guzheng maestro Sunyashu, who played a variety of Chiense classics with astonishing precision and skill.
Love me some guzheng action – one of the most mesmerizing instruments to emerge from China. And watching a pro work her magic in an institute that inspires greatness – simply a treat. Click below to watch more.
