DDC and LBM continued their ‘four seasons’ (as we’re dubbing it now) series last weekend with a hell of a showcase, one hot enough for folks to forget about the cold if even for one night. The lineup turned out to be quite the surprise, featuring a lot of new faces, with some stellar sounds to feed hungry audiences. From the bombast high-octane instrumental rock of Macondo (whose set you can listen to on mixcloud); the mix of grunge heavies and earthy folk melodies in Miao’s set; the assault of Social Boar’s math rock, midwest emo punk growls; the lush, orchestral pull of post rockers The 16th Floor; and last, a triumphant no-holds-barrel set from Glow Curve, back in fighting form — it was night to remember.
To those of you who ventured out in the record setting glacial temperatures last Saturday – I salute you. Just goes to show how a little music is all one needs to toast those bums and warm those hearts. Enough hacky sentiment — check below for more pictures as well as a video from Social Boar’s set.
